The event is held on the Kananaskis River at Canoe Meadows, just 40 minutes west of Calgary. Head south on the Kananaskis HWY 40 exit for 5 minutes to Canoe Meadows. You will see the carpark on your right hand side, if you reach the Barrier Lake info center you have gone 300 m too far….
There will most likely be lots of kayakers about…
The camping is very obvious and is included in your registration fee. If you are a not entered camping is $10 per night. Please tent within the open field and not in the trees.
The driving time from Calgary our approx 40 min’s and the same from Banff. If you are wanting to stay in more luxury, head south on HWY 40 for 20 min to Kananaskis Village or 20 min west on HWY 1 to Canmore….[but hey you miss half the fun by doing that!!] Canoe meadows is a group campsite and has only been booked for Friday and Saturday nights. There are many other campsites in the area.
